Coffee Table Design

A top in its shape and finish, on the base you choose: splayed legs, posts, planks, hairpins, a cross, a waterfall frame, a loop or a ribbon, a pedestal, a plinth or tiers. Size it to the sofa and give the base a finish of its own.

How coffee tables are designed

  1. Open Custom furniture

In the editor, open Furnish and choose Custom furniture, or type CUSTOM (CF). The presets open, by kind.

  2. Place it

Pick a coffee table, then click where it goes, in front of the sofa.

  3. Shape it

Change the top's shape, size and finish, then the base, its legs or panels, and their finish.

  4. Get the cut sheet

The cut sheet counts every board and nests it on stock sheets, with the edge tape, timber and hardware.

Coffee Tables questions, answered.

Which bases are there?

Splayed legs, posts, plank legs, hairpins, a cross, a waterfall frame, a loop, a ribbon, a pedestal, a plinth and tiered shelves.

Can the top be round or wavy?

Yes. The top is a rectangle, a round or a wavy outline, and a wavy top's waves can be made deeper or calmer.

Can the base be a different material?

Yes. The base has a finish of its own, or matches the top: oak legs under a travertine top, for one.

Can I get a cutting list?

Yes. The cut sheet lists the boards, nests them on a stock sheet size you choose, and adds up the edge tape, timber, hardware and machining.
