Terraces

Draw a closed outline on a sloping site and it becomes a flat platform at the level you set, cut in where the ground is high and filled where it is low, with a graded edge at the batter you choose.

How the Terrace tool works

  1. Open the Terrace tool

    In the editor, open Site and choose Terrace, or type TERRACE (PADSITE).

  2. Draw its outline

    Click each corner of the platform and close it.

  3. Set its level

    Select it to set its level and the batter of its graded edge.

  4. The ground is cut

    The ground is cut and filled to it, on the plan and in 3D.

What does a terrace do to the ground?

It makes a flat platform at its level: cut where the ground is higher, filled where it is lower, with a graded edge back to the slope.

How steep is the edge?

As steep as its batter, given as 1 in a number.
