Detail Drawings

Click where the detail is and a circle marks it on the plan. Its drawing, a 1:5 cut through the wall it stands on and the floors it meets, is in the Views list, drawn from the model, so it follows the wall's build up.

How the Detail tool works

  1. Open the Detail tool

In the editor, open CAD tools, then Annotate, and choose Detail, or type DETAIL (DET).

  2. Click on a wall

Click where the detail is. A circle marks it on the plan.

  3. Open the drawing

Its drawing, at 1:5 through the wall it stands on, is in the Views list.

  4. Annotate it

Add dimensions, text and leaders in the detail; they belong to it and print with it.

Detail questions, answered.

What does a detail show?

A cut through the wall the circle stands on, with the floors and ground it meets, at 1:5, drawn from the model.

Does the detail show the wall's layers?

It is cut from the model, so a wall with a build up of layers is drawn with them.

Can I put a detail on a sheet?

Yes. It is in the Views list, and the default sheet set lays it out on a sheet.
