Read the plan (get_plan): a home3dplan MCP tool

get_plan: The drawing of one storey as data: walls (id, endpoints in plan millimetres, thickness, material, curtain grid), openings (id, wall, kind, centre offset from the wall’s a end, width, height, sill), rooms (name, area, a point inside) and layers.

`get_plan` is one of the 24 tools the home3dplan MCP server offers an assistant. Connect [Claude](/mcp/claude), [Claude Code](/mcp/claude-code) or [ChatGPT](/mcp/chatgpt) and it is available in the conversation.

What it does

The drawing of one storey as data: walls (id, endpoints in plan millimetres, thickness, material, curtain grid), openings (id, wall, kind, centre offset from the wall’s a end, width, height, sill), rooms (name, area, a point inside) and layers. Plan coordinates: x to the right, y up the page, millimetres; scene metres are x/1000 and z = -y/1000.

A read. It changes nothing in the project. Scope: **projects:read**.

Inputs

**projectId** (string, required): See the tool’s description.

**storey** (integer): Which storey; the ground floor (0) when absent

**detail** (rooms | walls | openings | all): What to include; all when absent

What comes back

The storey’s walls, openings and rooms with their coordinates in millimetres, which the assistant reasons from before it draws.

Ask for it like this

"Read the ground floor of Stone house and list its rooms with their areas."

The assistant chooses the tool and fills its inputs from what you said; you do not name the tool or type its inputs.
