How the Tree tool works

  1. Open the Tree tool

In the editor, open Landscape and choose Tree, or type TREE (PLANT).

  2. Pick a species

Choose the species in the properties panel. It stays armed for every tree you plant.

  3. Click to plant

Each click plants one tree on the ground at that point, on the site plan and in 3D.

  4. Shape each one

Select a tree to turn it, raise or sink it, scale it, or give it a new seed to grow it differently.

Tree questions, answered.

Which trees are there?

Ash, aspen, oak, maple, sweetgum, spruce, pine, cypress, willow, birch, poplar and olive trees, garden shrubs such as boxwood, lavender, hydrangea and camellia, and palms from coconut to fan palms.

Do all trees of one species look the same?

No. Each tree grows from a seed; change the seed and the same species branches differently.

Can I design my own tree?

Yes. The tree generator designs a tree from its trunk to its leaves, and a saved design can be planted from the library.

Are trees shown on the site plan?

Yes. Each tree is drawn from above on the plan and stands in 3D on the ground, at its elevation.
