Set the site (set_site): a home3dplan MCP tool
set_site: The plot and the environment: the site boundary (scene metres, y is scene z; one per project, a new one replaces it), north in degrees, the datum level in metres, the region (intl or us standards), a setback in metres;
`set_site` is one of the 38 tools the home3dplan MCP server offers an assistant. Connect [Claude](/mcp/claude), [Claude Code](/mcp/claude-code) or [ChatGPT](/mcp/chatgpt) and it is available in the conversation.
What it does
The plot and the environment: the site boundary (scene metres, y is scene z; one per project, a new one replaces it), north in degrees, the datum level in metres, the region (intl or us standards), a setback in metres; the ground (visible, its material id, timber or concrete structure); the lighting (time of day 0 to 1 where 0.5 is noon, the sky, a mood, the real sun). Only what is given changes.
A write. It saves one revision of the project, which appears in the open editor at once and can be undone there. Scope: **projects:write**.
Inputs
**projectId** (string, required): See the tool’s description.
**boundary** (({ x: number, y: number })[]): See the tool’s description.
**north** (number): degrees
**datum** (number): metres
**region** (intl | us): See the tool’s description.
**setback** (number): See the tool’s description.
**ground** ({ visible?: boolean, material?: string, system?: timber | concrete }): See the tool’s description.
**lighting** ({ timeOfDay?: number, showSky?: boolean, mood?: city | apartment | studio | park | sunset | lobby | warehouse | dawn | blue, realSun?: boolean, realistic?: boolean, exposure?: number }): See the tool’s description.
What comes back
What changed, in words and in a structured form, and the link that opens the project in the editor on the right storey and view.
Tip: if the project changed in the editor between two calls, the write is refused as a conflict and the assistant opens the project again. Nothing is overwritten.
Ask for it like this
"Use set_site on my project."
The assistant chooses the tool and fills its inputs from what you said; you do not name the tool or type its inputs.
