Draw walls (draw_walls): a home3dplan MCP tool
draw_walls: Draw walls on a storey from centreline endpoints in plan millimetres (x right, y up). Walls that meet weld; a closed loop makes a room. Each wall can carry a thickness (mm), a material id, a curtain grid (glazing) and a head (top).
`draw_walls` is one of the 24 tools the home3dplan MCP server offers an assistant. Connect [Claude](/mcp/claude), [Claude Code](/mcp/claude-code) or [ChatGPT](/mcp/chatgpt) and it is available in the conversation.
What it does
Draw walls on a storey from centreline endpoints in plan millimetres (x right, y up). Walls that meet weld; a closed loop makes a room. Each wall can carry a thickness (mm), a material id, a curtain grid (glazing) and a head (top). The wall tool refuses a wall that overlaps a standing one and the refusal is reported.
A write. It saves one revision of the project, which appears in the open editor at once and can be undone there. Scope: **projects:write**.
Inputs
**projectId** (string, required): See the tool’s description.
**storey** (integer): Default 0.
**walls** (({ a: { x: number, y: number }, b: any, thickness?: number, material?: string, curtain?: { bay?: number, course?: number, mullionWidth?: number, panels?: string, mullions?: string }, top?: { height: number } | { link: integer, offset?: number } | { storey: number } })[], required): See the tool’s description.
What comes back
What changed, in words and in a structured form, and the link that opens the project in the editor on the right storey and view.
Tip: if the project changed in the editor between two calls, the write is refused as a conflict and the assistant opens the project again. Nothing is overwritten.
Ask for it like this
"Draw a 9 by 7 metre rectangle of external walls, then a wall that splits it into a 4 metre wide kitchen and a living room."
The assistant chooses the tool and fills its inputs from what you said; you do not name the tool or type its inputs.
