Levels

Every storey stands at its level, and every section and elevation marks it down the side with its name and its height above the datum. Click at a height in a side view and a new storey has its floor there.

How levels work

  1. Open the storey switcher

At the top of the editor. Pick a storey, add a floor above, or open a storey's properties.

  2. Set its heights

Give each storey its clear height and floor and ceiling thickness; the storey above stands on it.

  3. Or click at a height

In a section or elevation, use Level (LEVEL, LV) and click at a height to add a storey whose floor is there.

  4. Read the levels

Every section and elevation marks each storey with its name and height above the datum.

Level questions, answered.

How many storeys can a house have?

As many as you add, with basements below ground. Each has its own heights.

Where is the datum set?

In Settings, Site. Every level marker on every view reads its height from it.

Can a room be taller than its storey?

Yes. Raise its walls past the floor above, or set Floor above to Open in the room, for a double height space.
