What is a Landscape Block?
A Landscape Block is a free-drawn shape that extrudes into a solid 3D prism — perfect for raised beds, planters, berms, plinths, low site walls, and terraced yard elements in your home design.
Is it free, and where do I find it?
Yes, it is completely free and runs in your browser. Open the Home 3D Plan editor and pick Build › Landscape block from the toolbar — no install and no sign-up to start.
How do I create a landscape block?
Click to drop footprint points on your plan, then click the first point or press Enter to close the shape. It instantly becomes a solid 3D block you can see from any angle. Press Esc to cancel.
Can I make curved beds and borders?
Yes. After drawing a block, drag the amber midpoint dot on any edge to bow it into a smooth arc, so you can shape flowing, organic beds and borders — not just straight sides.
Can I set different materials?
Each block has three independent surfaces — top, sides, and bottom — that you can texture separately from the built-in material library, for example brick sides with a mulch or gravel top, or leave the tinted stone-and-soil defaults.
How tall can a block be, and can it float or terrace?
Block height ranges from 5 cm to 4 m, and you can raise the base elevation up to 4 m — so you can terrace beds up a slope or float a block above the ground.
How do I edit or delete a block?
Select a block to drag its blue corners (reshape), amber edges (curve), or green centre (move) — each drag is a single undo step. Switch to the Eraser tool and click to delete it.
Do landscape blocks save with my project?
Yes. They render live in 2D and 3D and are stored in your .hdp project file, so they persist and reload with the rest of your design.
