Retaining Walls

Draw a retaining wall along the slope and it holds the earth back on one side: the retained level behind, the exposed level in front, its thickness and batter, and a level of its own at every point when the ground changes along it.

How the Retaining wall tool works

  1. Open Retaining wall

In the editor, open Site and choose Retaining wall, or type RETAIN (RWALL). Arc retaining wall (ARW) curves it.

  2. Draw it

Click along the wall. The retained side is the left of the way you draw it.

  3. Set its levels

Set the retained and exposed levels, the thickness and the batter, or a level at each point.

  4. See it on the site

It is drawn on the site plan and stands in the ground, holding the bank behind it.

Retaining wall questions, answered.

Which side does it retain?

The left of the way you drew it, unless Retains says otherwise.

Can the retained level change along the wall?

Yes. Each point can have its own retained level.

Can a retaining wall curve?

Yes. Arc retaining wall (ARW) drags a curve out from a corner.
