Shape the ground (shape_ground): a home3dplan MCP tool

shape_ground: Level the site the way the Site plan tools do, in scene metres (a point’s y is scene z; levels in metres above the datum): spot levels (one point at a height), contours (a line every point of which is at one height), terraces (a flat platform cut into the slope, with a graded.

`shape_ground` is one of the 38 tools the home3dplan MCP server offers an assistant. Connect [Claude](/mcp/claude), [Claude Code](/mcp/claude-code) or [ChatGPT](/mcp/chatgpt) and it is available in the conversation.

What it does

Level the site the way the Site plan tools do, in scene metres (a point’s y is scene z; levels in metres above the datum): spot levels (one point at a height), contours (a line every point of which is at one height), terraces (a flat platform cut into the slope, with a graded edge; batter is the edge slope as run per unit rise), breaklines (a crease the ground folds along), retaining walls (hold earth back; the retained side is the LEFT of the way the line is drawn; upper and lower levels, thickness in metres). The ground surface derives from all of them.

A write. It saves one revision of the project, which appears in the open editor at once and can be undone there. Scope: **projects:write**.

Inputs

**projectId** (string, required): See the tool’s description.

**spots** (({ x: number, z: number, level: number })[]): See the tool’s description.

**contours** (({ points: ({ x: number, y: number })[], level: number })[]): See the tool’s description.

**terraces** (({ points: any[], level: number, batter?: number })[]): See the tool’s description.

**breaklines** (({ points: any[], level: number })[]): See the tool’s description.

**retainingWalls** (({ points: any[], upper: number, lower?: number, thickness?: number, batter?: number, material?: string })[]): See the tool’s description.

What comes back

What changed, in words and in a structured form, and the link that opens the project in the editor on the right storey and view.

Tip: if the project changed in the editor between two calls, the write is refused as a conflict and the assistant opens the project again. Nothing is overwritten.

Ask for it like this

"Use shape_ground on my project."

The assistant chooses the tool and fills its inputs from what you said; you do not name the tool or type its inputs.
